the gun is a VTR 700 Remington and I was looking at using the 7.62 as a range bullet more less for shooting practice (its a cheaper round than my hunting 150 grn Federal premiums). so from the sounds of the post the 7.62 is safe in the 308 rifle but 308 is unsafe in the 7.62 rifle. Thanks
